Selena was the Tejano performer who tragically shot to death by a gunshot accident caused the Latino response that could be likened to the reaction to Elvis Presley's and John Lennon's death. She was an incredibly well-known singer for Latinos across North America. But her music was a hit with both the young and old. Selena, a sexy and flamboyant stage performer, who was often referred to as Latina Madonna was the model on stage. She participated in antidrug efforts.
